The Embassy Suites by Hilton Rockford Riverfront is looking for a talented and energetic person to join our team as our full-time Director of Event Sales.Our hotel team members are passionate about their work and also like to have fun. Our Company was also voted "Best Place to Work", and we offer a full line of great benefits including 18 days of PTO and 9 paid holidays.Our Director of Event Sales will complete a variety of tasks which include:

• Develop, solicit and strategically manage existing accounts and drive new revenue for all Catering Events.
• General focus on identifying and generating new Catering Clients through online research, monthly personal offsite sales calls and mandatory sales blitz and weekly site tours.
• Prospect local non-profits and charities, local corporations and associations to increase private event revenue by creating strategic partnerships.
• Sell merchandise and up-sell food and beverage related to catering events.
• Report and work directly with General Manager & Director of Sales to write and implement quarterly sales and marketing game plans to achieve catering sales budget.
• Represent Embassy Suites Rockford Riverfront at Local Industry Trade Show and Association Events to create brand awareness and drive revenue. Develop relationships with local Convention & Visitor's Bureau, Chamber of Commerce and other major groups.
• Represent Embassy Suites Rockford Riverfront at a minimum of three Local Bridal Showcases and host one Wedding Open house at the hotel per year.
• Maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure successful events and drive repeat business.
• Creativity in developing new experiences driving customer engagement.Qualifications for this position:
  • Five years of previous event sales experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to speak clearly and listen attentively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure with poise and finesse.
  • Positive attitude, outgoing and friendly personality.
